Cosmoprof Asia Reports Strong Attendance

The 13th edition of Cosmoprof Asia, held at the Hong Kong Convention Center & Exhibition Center on November 12 to 14, saw more than 1357 exhibiting companies and 39,467 qualified attendees.
According to show organizers, attendance increased by 6.44% from 2007, and the number of exhibitors increased from the 1,264 exhibitors in 2007. The trade show represented many sectors of the beauty industry, including cosmetics, wellness, spa, hair care, skin care, nail care, product development, and packaging.

Show organizers also continued their commitment to the show's International Buyer Programme, which was launched in 2007 and unites buyers and sellers from around the world, providing each with resources, contacts, and data. For the second year, beauty and cosmetic companies showcasing their products at the show were given the opportunity to meet with a group of selected key buyers from strategic growth markets from around the globe.

Educational events were also aplenty, with one packaging seminar hosted by Jonathen Cohen, global marketing manager for cosmetic and personal care packaging for DuPont Cosmetic Solutions. The seminar was titled Inspirations for 2009: Innovative Solutions to Unlock Design Potential for Cosmetics Packaging.

Another interesting conference was called How to Enter the Chinese Cosmetics Market: Regulations and Problems, which provided an overview of the rules and regulations governing entry to the Chinese cosmetics market.
