Industry Awards: Pratt Student Helps to Design Blum Packaging
Pratt Institute student Isabel Carrizales, winner of Blum Naturals’ package design competition.
Blum Naturals, a new skin care line by Jean Pierre Cosmetics, which debuted at the Natural Products Expo East trade show in October, recruited students from New York City’s Pratt Institute to help design its packaging.
The company says that it could have used in-house designers, but instead chose to launch a competition, inviting Pratt students to submit packaging ideas and paying them for their designs—with payment amounts increased in each round of the competition. The winning student was Isabel Carrizales.
