Faces + Places: Scene at HBA Global Expo
From September 9 to 11, the beauty industry convened at HBA Global Expo in New York City. CPC Packaging mixed business with pleasure, taking part in several of the trade show’s conferences, as well as many social events such as a boat cruise hosted by supplier CSI/Cosmolab.
On the show’s first day, CPC Packaging’s publisher, Jim Wagner, moderated a conference called The Blossom Story about the creation of teen and tween natural skin care line Blossom. The next day, CPC Packaging’s editor, Jennifer Kwok, led a session called Contract Packaging: The Do’s and Don’ts.
Holly Young, president of Hirschhorn + Young Graphics and author of CPC Packaging’s Fine Print column, led a conference called Labels: What the Outside Says about the Inside. The session discussed whether the graphic designs of many of today’s high-tech beauty packages, such as those that change temperature, effectively communicate to consumers the full benefits of the innovative packaging.
Beth Olson, CPC Packaging’s sales manager, with Hiram Santana, product development manager for CSI/Cosmolab. The supplier threw a party on a yacht, which sailed the Hudson river.
