CPC Packaging's 2008 Packager of the Year - 2008 Notable Launches: A Custom, High-End Look for Skin Care
Avon ANEW Rejuvenate Flash Facial Concentrate (pictured at right) is a concentrated serum treatment. Design elements were used to convey the fact that this is a serious, luxury skin care product. The bottle was decorated with hot stamping, and the graphics seem to “float,” creating a three-dimensional effect. This product is a part of Avon’s ANEW Rejuvenate Collection (pictured at left).
“We invested a lot of time, effort, and resources in the research necessary to develop the formula for this product, so we made sure that was reflected in the package’s design,” says Avon’s director of global package design, Patricia Demnisky-Green. “The look of a floating test tube is a subtle nod to technology and science, emphasizing the serious aspects of the formulation.”
“The soft blue pearl color is one that you might see on a high-end car,” says Jeff Wass, executive director of global new product and package engineering. “Finding the perfect finish and the supplier that was able to match it wasn’t an easy task, especially since the product launched simultaneously in different regions.”
