Flower Power

Fashion designer Marc Jacobs launched a purse spray and a solid-perfume ring for his latest fragrance, Daisy.

The purse spray is a 20-ml refillable glass bottle modeled after the look of the fragrance’s retail bottle. Produced by Pochet (Wayne, NJ), the 20-ml bottle is topped with a small gold pump from Valois (Congers, NY) and a daisy-shaped metal overcap produced by Jackel (France).

The flower-shaped perfume ring has a sliding lid and a chain that allows the ring to be used as a bracelet, a keychain, or a handbag accessory. The ring was supplied by CGroup.

“The packaging reflects Marc’s offbeat and charming personality,” comments the Marc Jacobs global marketing team at Coty Prestige. “[The Marc Jacobs] consumer is always on the go, and we wanted to provide [a token of] unexpected luxury for a Daisy girl to throw in her favorite Marc Jacobs handbag.”

Luxury Boxes

Supplier Cosfibel Group (Paris; New York City) created several high-end holiday gift-set boxes, including ones for Banana Republic and Kenzo.

Cosfibel produced two gift-set boxes for Banana Republic—one for a women’s beauty gift set, and one for a men’s. The women’s box resembles a round hat box. It was wrapped in embossed pearlescent paper and adorned with a custom-dyed brown-velvet ribbon.

The men’s setup box is rectangular and was wrapped with embossed black paper. A rectangular sticker with the brand’s logo adorns the lid, along with bands of velvet ribbon.

Cosfibel also produced a gift-set carton for Kenzo. The carton comprises a decorative outer sleeve that slides over an inner carton. The carton can be stored and shipped flat.

Double-Duty Packaging

For its spring launches, Lorac Cosmetics chose multifunctional products and packaging.

One of the launches, the two-in-one On Screen Duo package, comprises two stackable jars that screw into each other. The bottom jar contains a dark cream product that doubles as eye shadow and eye liner. The top jar, which has a sliding lid, houses a frosted highlighting powder.

“This component saves women space in their makeup bags and pairs perfect [product] combinations, saving the time and effort [involved with] trying to match an eye shadow and a liner,” says Stacy Simmons, product development manager for Lorac.

Lorac also packaged multiple products together in its Best Dressed palette. The compact includes six eye shadows, a blush, and a double-ended brush. To decorate the outside of the compact, Lorac chose a material inspired by romantic knit fabrics, accented with gold, which the brand says will be in style this spring.

Finally, Lorac’s new Visual Effects Mascara features a brush that simultaneously performs four actions—separating, curling, thickening, and lengthening. The brush fibers were molded from flexible plastic and placed in four rows on the wand. The bristle lengths range from short to long to ensure that the bristles reach the shorter eyelashes in the corners of the eye, as well as the longer lashes in the center of the eye.

Gloss and Chain

For the holidays, Bourjois introduced the latest version of its Effet 3D Mobile mini lip gloss packaging. Featured in the brand’s new Kisses from Paris lip gloss set, the 1.7-ml Effet 3D Mobile bottles attach to a key chain.

The keychain, which includes charms shaped like a pair of lips and the Eiffel Tower, holds up to two lip gloss bottles so that customers can carry multiple shades at one time.
