“Between continuing to serve our longtime customers and with an influx of new business this past year, we really needed the additional space to accommodate increased manufacturing, and a bigger warehouse,” says Francesca Fazzolari, president and CEO.
The company recently held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to commemorate the facility’s opening.
New Developments from World Wide
World Wide Packaging (Florham Park, NJ) has added new features to its line. First, the firm has installed a Dimension SST120 3-D printer that creates three-dimensional plastic package models. Secondly, the firm has launched two new stock tubes.
On the new printer, Helio Ribeiro, the company’s director of engineering, says, “Making a model or prototype used to take three or four weeks. Now, once the dimensions are determined and fed into the Dimension 3-D printer, it only takes a few hours to build a fully functional, working model. Because our design cycles are now so much shorter, it makes it easier for us to revise and fine-tune our designs.”
Regarding the new tube additions, a new 13-mm plastic tube with a slanted applicator tip is suited for lip gloss. According to World Wide, it is unusual for a slanted-tip applicator tube to be offered in such a small size. The tube has a rounded cap.
World Wide’s dual-chambered tube was designed for products with two formulations that need to be separated until the time of use. The tube-within-a-tube features a 22-mm inner chamber and a 30-mm outer chamber. The tube’s head contains two holes that simultaneously dispense product from each chamber.

Brush Treatment Guards Against Bacteria
Hong Kong-based supplier Sourcology Ltd. is offering a new antimicrobial finish for its cosmetic brushes that the company says protects bristles against bacteria, mold, and fungus.
According to Sourcology, Applipure technology kills 99.9% of bacteria on brushes, including Staphylococcus Aureus, or Staph. According to the supplier, the Applipure’s efficacy is certified by the Fiti Testing & Research Institute.
“Until now, brands have at most been able to offer their clients specialized cleaners and cleansing agents that are sold alongside their brushes,” says Michael Quant, marketing director for Sourcology. “However, research has shown us that consumers who use cosmetic brushes—with the possible exception of makeup artists and similar professionals—either never wash their brushes or do so very infrequently.”
Applipure brushes are supplied to a private-label client pretreated.
