Nea Lotion Pump
The Nea lotion pump is a supplier’s latest dispensing technology. Nea, which contains no elastomers and features a glass ball, has a metal-free fluid pathway. As a result, it is compatible with most of today’s advanced product formulas and protects against product discoloration. The pump’s actuator is ergonomically designed and is available in a range of colors and transparencies. Rexam Dispensing Systems, Purchase, NY.
Metered-Dose Dispensing Pen
A pen for creams and lotions dispenses a metered product dose, providing customers with a precise amount of product each time. The pen is offered in sizes of 3, 7, and 15 ml, and well as in a new 30-ml oval design. A range of applicator tips is available, including those for lip gloss and eye treatments. Arrowpak Inc., Richmond Hill, NY.
Dispensers for Nexxus
New Nexxus hair care bottles feature several of a supplier’s dispensers. The Sonnet dispenser, used on the Versa Styler bottle, incorporates the supplier’s Pure Path technology. This technology places the metal spring outside of the fluid pathway to avoid product corrosion and discoloration. Nexxus’s Maxximum and Curl Energee products feature the supplier’s ergonomic Mark VI dispenser. This fine-mist sprayer is cost-effective and well suited to 55% VOC formulations. Finally, Heat Protexx uses the supplier’s Mini Trigger dispenser. A spin on the traditional fingertip dispenser, the Mini Trigger is suited for a range of formulations, including high-viscosity lotions and gels. MeadWestvaco Calmar, Grandview, MO.
Crimp Pumps
A supplier offers a range of stock crimp-neck pumps. Neck finishes include 13, 15, and 20 mm. Collars and actuators are available in gold and silver. There is no minimum order amount required. Brad-Pak Enterprises, Garwood, NJ.
Foam Pumps with Bottles
The patented AAF1 and Eco-Foamer foam dispensers, complete with bottles, have been added to a supplier’s line. Custom head designs and output option are available. The minimum requirement for ordering a colored dispenser is 10,000 pieces. The company also provides in-house decoration and labeling capabilities. Arminak & Associates, Duarte, CA.
Airless Dispensers
A supplier has expanded its airless dispenser technology for more than 20 years. It currently produces more than 25 different dispensers with various dosing options and actuator styles. Dispenser sizes range from 15 to 200 ml. All visible parts can be color matched. The firm also offers turnkey services for labeling and silk-screening. Mega Pumps, Eatontown, NJ.
Paris Series
The Paris dispenser line features apothecary styling. It is suited to a wide range of products, including those that are sensitive to light. The stock package includes a matching overcap, a pump, and a bottle. Pumps are available in metal or plastic finishes, and caps are offered in clear or natural finishes. The pump and the bottle are made of polypropylene, which the supplier says is chemically resistant. Bottle sizes include 7, 10, 15, 30, 50, and 100 ml. Cospack America Corp., Edison, NJ.
Twist-and-Lock Design
The EMSAR GS Twist & Lock pump can be relocked with the twist of the actuator. The up-locking pump remains sealed in the closed position, preventing accidental leakage while keeping water from entering the package. The pump is available with eight standard actuators, as well as plastic and metal collars. Size options include a 24-mm neck finish with a 1.2-cm3 dosage, or a 28-mm neck finish with a 2-cm3 dosage. A tamper-evident clip can be added. Emsar Inc., Stratford, CT.
Sample-Sized Sprayer
The Easy sampler offers marketers the advanced design they have come to expect from full-sized fragrance dispensers. Easy is available in two versions. Easy Cap is a standard splash-on glass vial with a cap. The cap has a stem, which customers can use to directly apply fragrance to the skin. Easy Spray features either a glass or plastic vial and a sprayer. The sprayer is designed so that no fragrance comes into contact with any gasket material or metal components. In addition, the dispensing components are hidden from a customer’s view. Valois, Congers, NY.
Crayola Dispenser
Crayola’s new Squeeze & Squirt shampoo and detangler dispensers were provided by the same supplier that created the line’s original body wash dispens- er. The body wash dispens- er featured a custom blow-molded PET bottle shaped after Crayola’s Tip character. The detangler and shampoo dispensers needed to be 3 oz larger, yet appear in-scale with the original bottle. The new dispenser has Tip in a seated pose. Customcolored disc-top and spray closures were added. Like the original package, the dispenser was wrapped in a shrink sleeve. Berlin Packaging, Chicago, IL.
Dispensing Cap
A supplier’s patented dispensing closure features a self-cleaning orifice design. When the dispenser’s finger pad is pushed down, any product residue on the dispensing orifice is scraped off as the finger pad slides along the side of the closure. The X-Press closure is designed for one-handed dispensing. It is available in a 24-410 neck-finish size and a 2-in.-diam size. M&H Plastics USA, Winchester, VA.
EZi, Symplicity Dispensers
Two dispensers have been introduced by a company. The EZi Foamer is a no-drip, water-resistant dispenser suited for high-output bath prod- ucts. A new version of the company’s Symplicity lotion pump has also been launched. In addition to a Symplicity pump with a 4-ml output and a 28-410 neck finish, the supplier now offers a 2-ml, 24-410 neck-finish version. The all-plastic pump is water resistant and is suited for personal care products such as sun care items and bath and body products. Rexam Airspray, Pompano Beach, FL.
