Show Coverage: Cosmoprof

The beauty event celebrates its 40th anniversary.

This year marks a milestone for Cosmoprof as the trade show celebrates its 40th anniversary. For a second year, the dates for Cosmoprof’s packaging sector, Cosmopack, will be staggered with the dates for the rest of the show.

Cosmopack will start and end one day earlier than the rest of Cosmoprof. Located in Pavilions 19 and 20, Cosmopack will take place March 29 through April 1. Beauty Landscapes, the Cosmoprof sector whose exhibitors are fragrance and cosmetic brands, will now also open and close on the same days as Cosmopack. This will give beauty brands and packaging suppliers an exclusive day to network before the rest of Cosmoprof opens.

The opening day of Cosmopack, known as Cosmopack Day, will kick off with a roundtable hosted by well-known cosmetic packaging designer Thierry de Baschmakoff. At the event, international package designers and suppliers will discuss issues with turning package designs into actual packages.

Cosmopack Day will also present the results of a Cosmoprof study that investigates the retail sector. It will offer key tips for successfully retailing cosmetics and perfumes.

To celebrate its anniversary, Cosmoprof will unveil a limited-edition book on Cosmopack Day that looks back at 40 outstanding beauty packages and the materials used to create them. These packages all come from the International Perfume Museum in Grasse, France. The book will also take a look at Cosmoprof’s past 40 years. Art direction for the book was by de Baschmakoff.

The rest of Cosmoprof, including pavilions for hair care, nail care, and herbal cosmetics, will take place March 30 through April 2. The entire event will be located at the Fairground District in Bologna, Italy. For more information on Cosmoprof, visit www.cosmoprof.com.
