The Estée Lauder Companies has promoted Thia Breen to president of Estée Lauder Americas and global business development. This is a newly created position in the company.

In the role, Breen is responsible for international business, financial control, and oversight of new launches for the flagship Estée Lauder brand. She will also continue to oversee the brand’s Americas business.

In other company news, Marshall Rose has retired from Estée Lauder’s board of directors. He had been a board director since 1996.

 

Revlon Inc. has named David L. Kennedy president, CEO, and a board director. Kennedy succeeds Jack Stahl, who the company says is leaving to pursue other interests.

Ronald Perelman, chairman of Revlon’s board, says, “As president of Revlon International, [Kennedy] restored meaningful profitability to the international business through aggressive control of costs and strong top-line growth.”

Kennedy says, “The company has a strong product portfolio with exceptional brand equity. While we have a great deal of work to do, I look forward to the opportunity to help Revlon fulfill its tremendous potential.”

 

Church & Dwight, owner of the Arm & Hammer brand, has elected Matthew Farrell vice president of finance and CFO. Farrell replaces Zvi Eiref, who has retired after serving as CFO for 20 years.

Most recently, Farrell was executive vice president and CFO of pharmaceutical company Alpharma Inc.

 

Faqueer S. Ahmad

Supplier Crown Risdon (Watertown, CT) has appointed Faqueer S. Ahmad vice president of engineering and business development. In this newly created position, Ahmad is responsible for both engineering and product development. He reports to company president Stephen Pearlman.

“With this new management structure, we are all looking forward to a new and exciting era for our company,” says Pearlman.

 

Tony Cecchinato

Tony Cecchinato has been promoted to vice president of sales for Rexam Dispensing Systems’ (Purchase, NY) U.S. business. Cecchinato will be responsible for sales of existing and new fragrance and lotion dispensers, sampling products, and closures.

Cecchinato joined Rexam in 1996 as quality assurance manager and became an account manager three years later. He reports to Hervé Bichon, deputy managing director for Rexam Dispensing Systems’ sales and marketing worldwide.

 

Dan McChesney

Container supplier Novapak Corp. (Eatontown, NJ) has named Dan McChesney regional sales manager. McChesney will cover the New York, New Jersey, and Eastern Pennsylvania metropolitan areas. He will promote the company’s blow-molded personal care containers, as well as containers for other industries. He previously held the position of national accounts manager for Graham Packaging Co.

 

The IntraPac Group (Richmond Hill, ON, Canada) has appointed Paul Cummings COO. Cummings is responsible for IntraPac’s operating divisions. The IntraPac Group is a developer and manufacturer of packaging for the personal care market. It focuses on laminate, aluminum, and tin tubes, and plastic jars, bottles, and closures.

 

Bob Klas Sr., CEO and chairman of contract manufacturer Tapemark Co. (West St. Paul, MN), has stepped down as CEO. Bob Klas Jr. is Tapemark’s new CEO, and Andy Rensink has been named president/COO.

Tapemark supplies a range of product-delivery systems such as dissolvable films and skin-adhesive items, including cosmeceutical patches, facial masks, cleansing pads, and pore-cleansing strips.

 

Yupo Corp. (Chesapeake, VA), a manufacturer of synthetic paper used for decorating cosmetic packaging, has announced several management changes. Shigeru Takano has been named the company’s president. Sumio Nomura will assume the role of executive vice president.

Within Yupo Corp. America, Marty Fiorillo has been promoted to vice president of distribution, sales, and marketing. Andrew Madden has assumed the role of vice president of sales for the firm’s thermal and pressure-sensitive label applications. Ed Burtner has been promoted to vice president of manufacturing, and Mike Licata has been appointed director of technical services.

 

Sterling Brands Design Group (New York City), whose clients include Unilever, Avon, Johnson & Johnson, and Givaudan, has named Jocelyn Dimsey executive vice president and general manager. Sterling Brands has offices in New York, San Francisco, and London.
