Sam Tameny, West Coast regional sales manager, has retired from aerosol packaging specialist CCL Container (Hermitage, PA). Tameny spent 23 of his 44 years in the packaging industry with CCL Container. He served as a member of the board of the Western Aerosol Information Bureau for 15 years and as membership chairman for five years.
Packaging manufacturer O-I (Toledo, OH) has named Michael Paparone president of its closure and specialty products division. Paparone succeeds company president Michael McDaniel, who is retiring.
Most recently, Paparone served as general manager of O-I’s prescription products healthcare packaging unit.

Weber Marking Systems (Arlington Heights, IL), a supplier of labeling and coding systems, has appointed Rich Russert national sales director. Russert will oversee Weber’s nationwide direct-sales operation in the United States.

Multivac Inc. (Kansas City, MO), a thermoformed-packaging specialist, has named Bill Gardner Eastern regional service supervisor and John Hofer Western regional service supervisor. They will lead customer service for existing machines and new installations.

All-Pak Inc. (Bridgeville, PA), which represents more than 400 manufacturers of glass, metal, and plastic packaging, announced six new employees at its corporate headquarters. Doug Jacobs has been appointed global supply division sales manager. Kristin Yakulis now serves as national account manager for the firm’s custom solutions division. Other new employees include Cheryl Brockman, customer care representative, global supply division; Amy McNulty, sales and administrative assistant, dangerous goods division; Katy Murphy, sales assistant, custom solutions division; and Patty Zivkovic, customer care representative, global supply division.

DataLase (Atlanta), formerly Sherwood Technologies, a provider of marking and coding technologies, announced that it has opened a new U.S. headquarters in Atlanta’s Technology Park. To head up the new headquarters, the company has named Christine Mest sales and marketing coordinator.
Rock-Tenn Co. (Norcross, GA) has promoted Kevin Sullivan to vice president, coated paperboard and market pulp sales, for the company’s paperboard division.
The Cosmetic Industry Buyers and Suppliers Association (CIBS) inducted 25 new members (pictured here) at a luncheon held April 12. The event took place at Gallagher’s Steakhouse in New York City. The Estée Lauder Companies’ Paul Bergmann, CIBS membership chairperson, and Brad-Pak’s Jenifer Brady, CIBS membership cochairperson, welcomed the new members.
