Tube Offerings
A supplier stocks a wide range of tubes sourced from China. The tubes are offered in eight diameters ranging from 3¼4 to 2 in. Monolayer and barrier structures are produced using low- and high-density polyethylene and soft-touch resins. Decoration can be added using offset printing, labeling, silk-screening, and foil stamping. In addition, the firm has introduced unique rectangular and triangular tubes with fill capacities from 2 to 7.44 oz. Berlin Packaging, Chicago, IL.
Low-Density Polyethylene
Low-density polyethylene tubes range from 12 to 60 mm in diameter. Both single- and multilayer structures are offered. The firm’s facilities are equipped to do offset printing and silk-screening in up to six colors. Other decorating methods include labeling, heat transferring, and hot stamping. Plastic closures can be provided with gold or silver metallizing and with a glossy or matte aluminum cover. In addition, the firm carries up to 72 styles of applicators and caps, including slanted-head, doe-foot, and mascara applicators; roller balls; and cosmetic pumps. SR Packaging Inc., Fengyuan, Taiwan.
One-Piece Solution
A unique tube is extruded in one seamless piece, including the cap. The tube’s patented one-piece design eliminates in-line filling problems associated with conventional tubes with caps and eradicates problems of leakage that often happen beneath a tube’s cap. In addition, it ensures that a cap is always oriented correctly on the tube. The tube is currently available in diameters of 25, 35, and 50 mm, with injection-molded flip-top caps and glossy, matte, transparent, pearlescent, or soft-touch finishes. World Wide Packaging Inc., Florham Park, NJ.
Dispensing Tip
Single-use tubes are available with a supplier’s Extreme Directional Flow (EDF) orifice, which provides more-accurate product dispensing. The EDF tip is suited for hair dyes and other products that must be applied precisely where they are needed. The EDF tip is available on all of the supplier’s single-use tubes, including those made from multilayer polyethylene, Saran, and laminated foil. Unette Corp.,Wharton, NJ.
