CIBS Hosts Ladies’ Day Luncheon, Dinner Meeting

On May 12, the Cosmetic Industry Buyers and Suppliers (CIBS) association held its annual Ladies’ Day luncheon. More than 1300 guests attended the event, which took place at the New York Hilton in New York City. The event was themed Year of the Dog and featured performances by Chinese dancers.

On June 14, the association held its monthly meeting at Gallagher’s Steakhouse in New York City. The event’s guest speaker was actress Catherine Hickland, president of CAT Cosmetics.

NJPEC Presents Hall of Fame Awards

The New Jersey Packaging Executives Club (NJPEC) inducted five new members into its Hall of Fame this year. The awards were presented during a congratulatory dinner at The Manor (West Orange, NJ) on May 18.

The five new members are Harry Bennett, vice president of package engineering, package testing, and packaging operations, The Estée Lauder Companies; Deborah Danis, account executive for supplier The Glass Group (Williamstown, NJ); Ron Cataldo, vice president and CEO, VPI (Nutley, NJ); Alan Rabinowitz, manager emeritus, Berlin Packaging (Chicago); and Eric Ruskoski, president, Seaquist Closures (Mukwonago, WI).


Supplier World Wide Packaging (Florham Park, NJ) has appointed Colin Clasen vice president of Midwest sales. Clasen will be responsible for sales of the company’s color cosmetic packaging components, custom-designed plastic tubes, and contract filling and turnkey services. Prior to joining World Wide, Clasen served as sales account manager for Tubed Products. He was also previously regional sales manager for CCL Plastic Packaging.

James Alexander Corp. (Blairstown, NJ), a contract packager and supplier of unit-dose dispensing systems, has named Ron Douros director of quality assurance. Douros will develop, implement, and lead all quality assurance activities for the company, including ensuring regulatory compliance. Before being promoted, Douros had served as director of operations for James Alexander for nearly 10 years.

Craig Inman has been named director of business development and marketing for Rexam Airspray (Pompano Beach, FL), a dispensing systems supplier that specializes in foam dispensers. Inman has worked in the industrial, IT, medical, and telecommunications fields, with firms ranging from Fortune 100 companies to start-ups.

Cospack America Corp. (Edison, NJ), a supplier of skin care, cosmetic, and fragrance packaging, has opened a West Coast distribution center and sales office. The new office is located at 280 W. Orange Show Ln., San Bernardino, CA 92408.
