Show Coverage: Luxe Pack New York
Beauty packaging professionals specializing in the luxury market won’t want to miss the 2006 edition of Luxe Pack New York. To be held May 17–18 at New York City’s Metropolitan Pavilion, the trade show will feature the latest innovations of more than 50 premiere cosmetic packaging suppliers.
In addition to exhibits, Luxe Pack New York will host a seminar and conference series. On May 17, a panel discussion called Innovations In Brand Security, Tracking, and RFID will be held. Also on May 17, designer Marc Rosen, president of Marc Rosen Associates, will moderate a panel discussion called What’s New: Is It Cutting-Edge or Cannibalizing Brands? Composed of retailers, marketers, designers, and product developers, the panel will discuss the beauty industry’s continual demand for new product launches and whether flooding the market with new launches cannibalizes existing brands.
On May 18, Marc Gobé, founder, chairman, and CEO of image creation firm Desgrippes Gobé, will present a conference called Emotional Branding. Gobé will speak about the importance of creating products that forge an emotional bond with customers. Also on May 18, Debra Butler, vice president of the creative marketing studio for Firmenich Inc., will present Design and Hidden Dimensions In Smell.
CPC Packaging will also have a special presence at Luxe Pack New York. At the show, CPC Packaging will host the awards reception for its 2006 Editors’ Choice Awards. Representatives from the beauty brands and suppliers that created the winning packages for this year’s Editors’ Choice Awards have been invited to attend the event.
In addition, in celebration of Luxe Pack New York, designer Chad Lavigne will create a one-of-a-kind mural out of silver and gold beauty packaging components.
