On Display--Caps and Closures: Crowning Touches
Caps For Cartier
Transparent, flower-shaped caps with stones decorating their centers were fashioned for the Délices de Cartier fragrance. For the fragrance’s 30-ml bottle, a red Surlyn cap was produced with a transparent polystyrene stone glued on. A Zamac ring engraved with the fragrance’s logo adorns the cap’s base. For the fragrance’s 5-ml bottle, a transparent PCTA cap was molded with a polypropylene base. The cap’s center was pad-printed red. To mimic the ring on the 30-ml bottle cap, the fragrance’s logo was added using black silk-screening and silver hot stamping. Alcan Packaging Beauty, New York, NY.
Tube Cap
A dispensing cap for tubes is available in diameters of 13¼8 and 2 in. The cap features a 22-400 threaded neck finish that accommodates standard tubes and tottles. Other neck finishes are also available. The cap’s lockable design requires the user to rotate the cap a quarter turn in order to unlock it and dispense product. Clearasil Closures
Bi-colored polypropylene bottle and jar closures were produced for a relaunched Clearasil skin care line. Both closures feature solid-white bases. The 35-mm snap-on bottle closure features a transparent hinged lid. Stock Caps
A supplier has introduced Anocaps, a line of stock fragrance caps. Anocaps can be provided in colors and decorative anodized finishes. Shiny Silver
Shiny silver caps were produced for the 75- and 125-ml bottles of Zirh International’s Corduroy fragrance for men. The caps feature a shiny silver aluminum shell and a polypropylene inner piece. For a high-quality feeling, the caps were weighted. The metallic shells were produced by Axilone Metal, which is located in Spain, while molding of the inner piece and the package’s final assembly were done at the supplier’s facility in the United States.
