Jon Powell has been named managing director for a newly created European division of Ampac Packaging LLC (Cincinnati). Ampac is a supplier of retail carrier bags for many prestige and middle-market brands.
Engelhard Corp. (Iselin, NJ) has appointed three new account managers to serve the company’s personal care customers in North America. Karen Cole will serve Midwest customers, as well as customers Elizabeth Arden and Alberto Culver. Alexandre Rio will serve the firm’s western territories, as well as key accounts such as Johnson & Johnson and La Prairie. Manisha Mahajan will serve the southeast region and key account Bath & Body Works. All three managers will be based in Engelhard’s New York office and will report to Tony Jaillot, director of personal care materials. Engelhard is a supplier of materials technology for the cosmetic and personal care industries. Its products include active ingredients that can be supplemented with aesthetic enhancers, preservatives, and pigments.
James Farley has been promoted to the position of divisional vice president of sales and marketing for supplier Berry Plastics Corp. (Evansville, IN). Berry Plastics is the parent company of plastic tube supplier Tubed Products LLC, for which Farley had recently served as vice president of sales and marketing. In his new position, Farley will be responsible for the firm’s rigid closures business, including the personal care market. He will relocate to Indiana but will still maintain ties with Tubed Products through frequent meetings at Tubed Products’ facilities in Easthampton, MA, and Oxnard, CA. Farley started his career at Tubed Products in 1977 as a design draftsman and held the positions of project engineer, engineering manager, and director of new business development.
The Cosmetic, Toiletry, and Fragrance Association (CTFA) has reelected Marc Pritchard as chairman of the association. Pritchard is also president, global cosmetics and retail hair color, for Procter & Gamble.
