Innovative Decorating
A supplier developed a unique decorating process to enhance the Surlyn cap it supplied for Lancôme’s Hypnôse fragrance bottles. The fragrance’s name was printed on a metal plate, which was affixed to the top surface of the cap. The aluminum plate was manufactured in a brushed silver color. Its surface was screen printed in a pinkish gold shade and pad-printed with a white logo. Because the brand wanted the silver backing of the plate on the transparent cap to look clean when viewed from underneath the cap, the supplier developed a decorating technique using pad printing and a special inking process to hide the glue that attaches the plate to the plastic cap. Crown Risdon, Watertown, CT.
Surlyn Overcaps
A supplier of stock glass packaging offers Surlyn overcaps to enhance a package’s appearance. These caps can be used to complement the supplier’s numerous container offerings, including its Classica fragrance-bottle collection. Caps and closures can also be provided in polypropylene, urea, SAN, and ABS. They can be produced in custom colors, and they can also be hot stamped and silk-screened. Finishes include soft-touch, metallized, and matte effects. Arrowpak Inc., Richmond Hill, NY.

Caps can be made in stock or custom designs, such as the custom cap created for a Christian Dior fragrance (pictured). The company has factories located in Europe, the United States, and China.
