Show Coverage

Health & Beauty America (HBA), a premier trade show for the beauty packaging industry, returns to New York City's Jacob K. Javits Convention Center on September 28–30. Targeting beauty packaging professionals, the trade show will feature educational conferences, exhibits by packaging suppliers, and special events.
More
than 560 companies will exhibit their latest technologies for packaging,
promotional items, point-of-purchase displays, raw materials, ingredients,
equipment, and services such as contract packaging, contract manufacturing,
formulating, and private labeling. Packaging suppliers will showcase
everything from bottles and closures to applicators, cartons, compacts,
dispensers, jars, labels, sample packages, and more. International
pavilions will allow attendees to more efficiently browse the show
floor.
Conferences at the show can be a valuable resource for attendees. The conferences are divided into categories such as packaging, nutraceuticals, marketing, and product development. Packaging sessions include Understanding More About Packaging; Adding Value Through Great, Maybe Daring, Design; Labeling and Decorating; and Prestige Packaging Within Your Budget. Master classes are also offered to provide in-depth instruction in the areas of marketing and product development.
Packaging will be the highlight of many of the special events. Particularly noteworthy is the HBA Industry Awards program and dinner, taking place on September 28 at the New York Hilton hotel. The awards will feature the winners of the 5th Annual HBA International Packaging Design Awards, which honor innovative beauty packages.
Other specialized events include the Cosmetic, Toiletry, and Fragrance Association's (CTFA) session on September 29. The session will feature a panel of experts who will discuss domestic and international issues affecting the development and marketing of cosmetic products in the U.S. and worldwide markets, as well as FDA's up-to-date regulatory issues. New regulations regarding the European Union will also be discussed.
To
open the trade show on September 28, this year's keynote speaker
will be Charles B. Strauss, who recently retired from Unilever as
president and CEO of Unilever's U.S. division, and director of Unilever
PLC and chairman of its North American Committee. Strauss will provide
insight on the global marketing strategies and business development
tactics behind major consumer brands.
