Smart Plastic
Polypropylene, PET, and PVC cartons are offered with many beneficial features. One carton model, called SmartKrease, has easy-to-crease corners. The sharp corners help maintain flat carton walls, overcoming the plastic's shape memory. Production can be run on automated erecting lines. To reduce transport costs, the cartons are shipped flat. Vivid graphics adorn the polypropyl-ene gift-set cartons for Estée Lauder's More Than Mascara, Illusionist, and MagnaScopic mascaras. Photographic images were printed using complex printing techniques and finishes. A special high-gloss varnish was applied over the photos for added visual impact. Fragrance Carton
A PVC carton serves as secondary packaging for Secrets by Dana perfume, distributed by New Dana Perfumes Corp. Blue and silver graphics adorn the carton's clear front and back panels. To ensure that the colored inks would stand out on the carton's clear plastic, the graphics were first printed in white ink and then printed again in the colored inks. The insides of the carton's top, bottom, and side panels were hot-stamped in blue foil.
