Blue-Tinted Components
A cap and a pump are tinted in blue for the 30-, 50-, and 100-ml bottles of Ralph Lauren's Ralph fragrance. The cap is made of light-blue-colored Surlyn, a resin resistant to fragrance oils. The cap's gate—a small-diameter protrusion that results from injection molding—is engineered to appear on the center of the inside of the cap, where the mark is least visible. Printed Film
A lamination made from polyester and polyethylene serves as the decorative top of a blister pack for the Xtreme III razor by Schick and Wilkinson Sword. The durable, 142-mil polyethylene film is sealed to the blister with a layer of polyethylene sealant. Graphics are reverse-printed in four colors by flexographic printing. A rectangular glass bottle custom-molded for the Libertine fragrance by Vivienne Westwood is fashioned with rounded, well-defined shoulders. Lugs on the shoulders ensure the cap fits securely. Tressa Inc. chose a multibottle package consisting of three 3.5-oz low-density polyethylene bottles held together by overcaps at the top and bottom for its Mender shampoo, conditioner, and styling products. Used by Tressa as a promotional package, the patented TriPak can also be supplied with high-density polyethylene or PVC bottles. The top overcap can accommodate various dispensers.
