Whatever your packaging challenge—from purchasing components to developing new marketing strategies—HBA 2001 has solutions.

The premier health, beauty, and personal care exposition, HBA Global Expo 2001, will be held June 12-14 at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City. The trade show will offer exhibits and educational conferences of interest to packaging professionals in the cosmetic and personal care industry.

More than 500 exhibitors are expected to showcase the latest innovations in packaging and labeling, private-label cosmetics, and raw ingredients. See page 81 in this section for a partial list of exhibitors that supply packaging materials, equipment, supplies, and related services.

imgIn conjunction with the exhibition will be a comprehensive conference program, "From Formula to Finish." Sessions in three tracks—packaging, marketing, and product development—will provide valuable information on the trends, strategies, and technologies shaping the cosmetic and personal care industry.

Issues relevant to designers, marketers, executives, engineers, public relations personnel, and new product development specialists will be addressed.

img"The IPDA Winners Tell How They Did It," a session cosponsored by Cosmetic/Personal Care Packaging, will feature the category winners in the HBA International Package Design Award competition.

(For profiles of the winners and finalists, see page 44 in this issue.) Companies will present their winning designs and discuss their strategies and development processes. Other packaging sessions include Prestige Packaging within Your Budget; Adding Value to Your Product through Great (Maybe Daring) Design; and Enticing the Consumer with Labeling and Decorating.

Highly focused marketing sessions will center on marketing techniques for fragrance and skin-care products, and the utilization of public relations services and the Internet. Other programs include "Making P-O-P Work: Joint Presentations by Suppliers and Marketers"; "Build the Right Web Site and They Will Come (Maybe)"; and "Conquering the Male Animal."

New to HBA this year is the Asian Pavilion, featuring approximately 40 companies from Korea, Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, and Japan. These companies will be a valuable resource for U.S.-based packagers and marketers seeking components and services from the Pacific Rim. Exhibitors from Austria, Canada, France, Italy, Germany, Mexico, Spain, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom will provide additional international presence.
