The latest materials, supplies, equipment, and services for the packaging industry will be on display at SouthPack 2001, to be held at the Georgia World Congress Center (Atlanta) April 24 - 26. One of the most comprehensive packaging events in the Southern region, the trade show will help designers and brand managers boost brand awareness and product appeal. Packaging professionals will have the opportunity to develop new vendor relationships, source new machinery, and explore technology applications, all under one roof. See the column at right for a list of exhibitors that will be of interest to cosmetic and personal care packaging professionals.

Several dedicated product pavilions will be set up on the show floor, including the Creative Packaging pavilion, which will display the latest innovations in such components as caps, closures, bottles, jars, tubes, blister packs, folding cartons, and containers. The Creative Marketing pavilion will highlight package design services. Those interested in exploring the Machinery pavilion will find cartoners, form-fill-seal equipment, labelers, and more.

In conjunction with the exhibition, a conference program sponsored by the Institute of Packaging Professionals (IoPP) will begin April 23. Session titles include Market Enhancement Through Package Design and Distribution Technology, organized by Clemson University; Accessing Packaging Information Today; Package Shipping in the Internet Age; Planning Your Career in Packaging; Software for Packaging; and Emerging Trends and Technologies You Can Use. Also, Women in Packaging will offer a career development program; preregistration is required.
