Hot-Stamped Label:
Clear polypropylene film is used to create the label for Gilchrist and Soames, makers of bath and body products for luxury spas and resorts worldwide. Hot-stamping in gold creates the company's crest, making the logo instantly recognizable and giving the package an elegant appearance. The label designer and manufacturer supplies labeling and coding systems to the international marketplace. The product line includes ink-jet coders, labeling media, and in-line coding systems for flexible packaging materials. Weber Marking Systems Inc., Arlington Heights, IL
Unusual Shape:
The bottle for the Olympic Sports men's fragrance, Bogner Snow, presented production challenges due to its unusual shape. Obstacles that had to be overcome included the bottle being unstable on the production line and the bottle needing homogeneous glass distribution on the bottom and the sides. The overcap serves as the base and is constructed of metallized plastic. Other features are silver-colored printing on the face of the bottle; an uneven, satiny lacquer; and a light-blue-colored glass to enhance the product's fresh feeling. Bottle sizes are 40 ml, 75 ml, and 100 ml. Bormioli Luigi Corp., Langhorne, PA.
Fragrance Bottle:
A 1-oz clear glass flask bottle was created from a stock mold for la mer, a limited-edition fragrance by Calypso Beauty. The bottle features a spray pump with a Model #15-415 neck. A wide range of stock cosmetic bottles, caps, pumps, and accessories are available from the supplier. ABA Packaging, Holtsville, NY.
Tightly Fitted Cap:
A green glass base and a deep-red plastic cap were chosen as packaging for the Must de Cartier Pour Homme fragrance by Cartier. The copolyester cap is equipped with a polypropylene inner that ensures a tight fit with the glass neck of the bottle. MT Packaging, a subsidiary of Techpack America/LIR-USA, Paris, France.
Template Labels:
Country Herbals by Andrea redesigned the labels for its entire product line to increase customer appeal. The original ivory-on-brown labels were replaced with a 2-mil white polypropylene stock with a matte UV varnish and a ÒnoiseÓ screen in the background to provide a parchment-like effect. A changeable ÒcapsuleÓ label was created to adhere to the larger main label, so that the labels for different fragrance names could be applied to the same basic label. Label Graphics Manufacturing Inc., Little Falls, NJ.
Amber Bottles:
Aunt Vi's Garden selected amber bottles and white caps for its Real Beauty line of organic personal care products. The PET bottles are compatible with essential oils in the natural toiletries products and will not erode. The stock bottle, available in various colors and decorations, is 100% recyclable. The bottle's amber tint protects the product from sunlight. The disc-dispensing cap is also manufactured by the company. Bottle sizes range from 2 to 16 oz. O. Berk Co., Union, NJ.
New Addition:
A company has added a new bottle to its True-Pour line. The 120-cc Amber True-Pour bottle is now available in addition to the 15-cc, 30-cc and 60-cc models. All of the bottles have a Glass Containers Manufacturers Institute standard 28-430 pour-out neck. Caps are available in white and black. The company can screen-print logos on the caps for low-minimum runs. Brad-Pak Enterprises Inc., Garwood, NJ.
Minimalist Design:
Calvin Klein Cosmetics chose packaging with a cool metallic look for its mascara, brow groomer, and lip gloss. The lip gloss features a palladium-colored cap and a wand with a nylon flocked-tip applicator wiper for precise application. The clear container allows the product's tint to be seen through the glass. The mascara and brow groomer products are housed in anodized aluminum containers with metallized inner bottles. The mascara's hourglass-shaped brush is designed to coat every lash, and the brow definer's brush grooms brows in one application. A black rod highlights the colored mascara, while a white rod showcases the clear brow-grooming gel. The Calvin Klein logo is screen-printed on the base of each bottle. Risdon-AMS, Naugatuck, CT.
Four-Color Design:
A four-color printing process was used to decorate the bottle for Flowerbykenzo from Kenzo Parfums. The bottle was created in sizes of 30 ml, 50 ml, and 100 ml and features a contemporary architectural design with smooth, upward-stretching lines. Its slightly curved shape is reminiscent of a poppy stem. Saint-Gobain Desjonqures, Courbevoie, France.
